Pharmaceutical preparations that relieve angina attacks (antianginal effect) and lower blood pressure (antihypertensive property) are able to normalize the work of the heart and improve the state of blood vessels. One of these drugs is Vero-Amlodipine.

The composition (active substance) of the drug

In a tablet - 5-10 mg (depending on the dosage) of the active component of amlodipine besilate.

What pills help

A drug - a calcium channel blocker - is prescribed by a doctor if it is diagnosed:

  • dilated cardiomyopathy;
  • angina pectoris;
  • heart failure (congestive);
  • arterial hypertension (essential and symptomatic).

Instructions for use for children and adults

Calculating the daily dosage, the diagnosis is taken as a basis:

  • with angina pectoris, arterial hypertension, therapy begins with 5 mg, gradually increasing the dose to 10 mg;
  • with dilated cardiomyopathy - from 2.5 mg at the beginning of treatment, then the amount of substance slowly reaches 10 mg.

It is allowed to drink no more than 10 mg per day.

Do not use a pharmaceutical agent to treat children - there is no information about the safety of amlodipine besilate, its effect on the children's body is not described.

During pregnancy and lactation

The lactation period and the state of pregnancy are the reason for the relative contraindications. There is no accurate data on how the drug can affect the body of the child.

The likelihood of prescribing a drug is not completely excluded, this is permissible in certain cases - the decision always remains with the specialist.

Contraindications, side effects, overdose

Contraindications are intolerance to compound substances and arterial hypotension.

Side effects can occur with the following symptoms:

  • heart palpitations;
  • muscle pain

Amlovas contains the same active substance as Vero-Amlodipine, –amlodipine besilate. Indications and contraindications for these similar drugs will be the same.

The daily dosage of Amlovas tablets depends on the diagnosis, but usually therapy begins with a dose of 5 mg, then an increase of up to 10 mg is assumed.

In the composition of tablets, Valsartan is an active ingredient with the same name.

Recommended remedy:

  • in the acute period of myocardial infarction;
  • with hypertension (at its initial stage);

Contraindications to taking the medicine are intolerance to the components, as well as severe liver damage.

Children, pregnant and lactating patients are not prescribed a pharmaceutical preparation.

Relative contraindications are:

  • renal artery stenosis;
  • clogged bile ducts (due to the presence of tumors, stones);
  • hyponatrium diet;
  • renal failure.

Depending on the patient’s diagnosis, the specialist determines the right amount of medication. The recommended daily dosage is 80 mg.

Immediately after myocardial infarction was transferred, take 40 mg in the morning and evening. Then the amount of the agent used gradually increases: after 3 months the dose will increase to 320 mg per day.

Amlodac tablets are another analogue of Vero-Amlodipine with the same active substance in the composition and with the same indications, contraindications and dosage.
