For girls

Of course, it’s quite possible to take Czechs to the first dance lessons, but after a while the coach will definitely ask you to replace them with special shoes. The fact is that in Czechs there is a solid sole, which can interfere with the proper functioning of the foot. This shoe does not fit tightly on the foot, since it is attached only with an elastic band in the boot, it can fly off and cause injuries.

There are also ballet shoes - they are ideal for warm-ups and for performances by novice dancers, they are well fixed on the leg, and a special separate sole (reinforced heel and firm arch) contributes to the proper functioning of the foot. There is a big minus - ballet shoes are short-lived, but the relatively low cost allows you to change shoes every 2-3 months without much damage to the family budget.

Both ballet flats and Czechs can be either fabric or leather. Naturally, you will have to pay more for leather shoes, but it is also more durable.

There is another option for comfortable dancing shoes - this is jazz. They have a separate sole, but, unlike ballet shoes, the arch and heel are denser, a small heel is located on the heel. Made jazz leather, on the arch there is a lacing. There is a plus in jazz shoes - this is durability, and a minus - in the skin the leg does not breathe well.

Particular attention should be paid when buying training ball shoes, it should not slip!

As a rule, the floor in the dance hall is covered with a parquet board, so plastic and rubber soles are excluded immediately.

The ideal sole material is natural suede.

Shoes for sports ballroom dancing

  • for the European program;
  • for the Latin American program.

The fundamental difference in these programs is in the execution technique: a step in the European program (standard) starts with a heel, and in Latin - with a toe.

Shoes for the “standard” program must meet the requirements of the Russian Dance Sport Federation. Distinctive features of these models of shoes are the elongated arch support and the closed toe.

Shoes for the Latin American program for the girl are special - they have a raised toe and a strap is always present: it is attached either crosswise over the foot or covers the ankle. Heel in latin shoes is strictly vertical. Tango shoes stand out separately. They are stiffer in the sole. As a rule, all latin shoes have an open toe.

When choosing shoes for a little dancer, we must take into account the following factors:

  • form: for the European ballroom program, we choose a classic boat, shoes for latin more resemble sandals;
  • strap-fastener: in shoes for the European part of the program there may not be a strap (then the shoes must be sewn with an elastic band on the inside for fixing on the leg), for latin the strap is a prerequisite, it can be in the form of a cross, the letter “T” or the usual single transverse;
  • material: ideally, of course - leather (or leatherette), however, fabric - satin are acceptable.

It is worth paying special attention to the heel. So, for girls of the Juvenal -1 category (from 8 to 10 years) and Juvenal-2 girls (10-12 years), the heel is allowed up to 3.5 centimeters.It is comfortable and wide, for which it is called a “block”. Girls from 12 years old can dance on a Cuban heel or a shot glass. From the age of 14, there are no restrictions on the shape and height of the heel.

Color schemes

So, if strict color requirements are imposed on shoes for boys-ballerinas - only a black shade, then for girls there is complete freedom. Any colors are allowed. And professional trainers, on the contrary, are strongly advised to buy bright shoes for the performance - so they will be able to control possible errors in the staging of the foot of their pupil from the auditorium.

How to choose shoes for ballroom dancing for a girl?

Before choosing a ballroom shoes for a girl, consult your trainer. He will give practical advice - this person professionally assesses the anatomical features of the little dancer's legs and her physical abilities.

When buying latin shoes, pay attention to the “rise”: the whole foot should literally lie on the insole, without forming visible voids. And when choosing shoes for the European program, it is recommended to conduct a test comfort: ask the girl to put on a shoe of the right size and make a roll from heel to toe. In good shoes, the young dancer will not feel discomfort.

Regardless of the height and shape of the heels, it should be located clearly under the heel: only this arrangement guarantees the correct distribution of weight on the leg in motion.

Be sure to keep in mind: shoes should be in harmony with the main outfit.

How to determine the size of dancing shoes?

When trying on shoes for sports ballroom dancing, it is recommended to try on both right and left at once. In this case, the shoes should be fastened, walk in them and make a couple of pa. During this experiment, they should not reap and hang out.

As in everyday shoes, the sizes of shoes for ballroom dancing can differ from metric. Therefore, they should go buy with a dancer. When ordering via the Internet, be safe, ordering as much as possible for fitting 2-3 pairs: your size, a size larger and a size smaller. Among them, those that will fit rightly come across.

Determining the correct foot size will take a couple of minutes:

  • place your child’s foot on a piece of paper spread on the floor;
  • circle the foot with a pencil;
  • measure with a ruler the length of the drawn foot from the heel to the tip of the maximum protruding finger (thumb or following it).

As a rule, most European shoe manufacturers use a stichmovy system of sizes. The unit of measure is a batch - it is 2/3 cm. In Russia, the metric system is adopted - the size of the shoe coincides with the length of the foot. When buying a pair of balloons, drive away the temptation of buying "for growth" - this can cause injury to the child! The maximum allowable oversize is 0.5 cm!
