Laminaria (seaweed) has been considered a valuable product since time immemorial. It is especially popular in Asia and Latin America. This seaweed contains many useful substances and is especially rich in iodine. A large number of dishes are prepared on its basis, combined with a wide variety of ingredients. I will share 2 recipes for seaweed soup.

On a note. For the preparation of first courses, you can use both fresh and dried or canned kelp. The latter before adding to the broth will need to be thoroughly washed in hot water from the remnants of the brine.

To make a delicious soup with kelp, a minimum of additional ingredients is required. This makes work easier and reduces the time spent in the kitchen. Only half an hour - and a delicious meal for the family dinner is ready!

Required Products:

  • water or broth (chicken, meat, fish) - 2 l;
  • canned kelp - 300 g;
  • potatoes - 3 pcs.;
  • onion - 1 pc.;
  • carrots - 1 pc.;
  • eggs - 3 pcs.;
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • salt, spices - to taste.

Operating procedure:

  1. Boil eggs, cool and chop with straws.
  2. Dice the peeled potatoes and pour it into boiling water, reduce the heat to medium.
  3. Rinse seaweed from brine, squeeze from liquid.
  4. Let the onions chopped into cubes in vegetable oil, and after 2-3 minutes, when it begins to soften, put the grated carrots.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes over medium heat and then remove from heat.
  6. By this time, the potatoes are almost cooked. Put kelp in the soup, try the broth. Only after that add salt to taste. Despite the fact that the algae was washed before adding to the pan, there was a lot of salt left in it.
  7. After 3-4 minutes, enter the frying, chopped eggs, seasonings. Wait for boiling and remove from heat.

I have given the simplest and most minimalistic recipe. But if desired, you can add fish, meat, poultry, seafood, peas and any greens to the composition of the dish, and replace the potatoes with rice or noodles based on it. Then the soup will become more satisfying, and your guests and households will certainly not remain hungry.

Korean style with dried kelp

This soup is very popular in Korea. It is prepared not only on weekdays, but also on holidays. As a basis, Asian cooks take beef, chicken or fish and be sure to add soy sauce. Try to make such a dish for lunch and enjoy its original, rich taste.

Ingredients for 2 liters of water:

  • beef - 400 g;
  • dried kelp - 90 g;
  • garlic - a few cloves;
  • soy sauce - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • sesame oil - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • salt is a pinch.

Step by step recipe:

  1. Cut the beef into strips, like beef stroganoff. Fold in a bowl.
  2. Pour the meat with soy sauce and sesame oil, mix and let it marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  3. Soak dried seaweed in cold water. After half an hour, remove, rinse and gently squeeze.
  4. Sauté the beef in marinade in vegetable oil for 5 minutes, then add crushed garlic and let it sit on the fire, stirring constantly, for the same amount.
  5. Boil water in a saucepan, add a little salt, add meat. Leave on low heat for half an hour.
  6. After this time, put kelp chopped with a knife into the broth, cook another 15 minutes. Serve the soup hot, if possible with spicy Korean-style vegetables.

On a note. If you could not get dried seaweed, you can take nori sheets - the taste of the dish will not get any worse.
