Back in 1939, an emigrant from sunny Greece named Leo Stefanos had the courage to open his pastry shop in Chicago and named him Dove.
The word literally translated into Russian means “dove”, and, as you know, it is a symbol of peace. Leo decided that it was the perfect name for a family shop.
Already in 1956, the store owner learned how to make his signature chocolate. And it all started with the fact that his son got into the habit of buying ice cream in a mobile van, and Leo did not like it too much. As a result of many cooking experiments, he still managed to get an incredibly delicate and delicious product that the whole world knows today as Dove chocolate.
In 1977, after the death of Leo, all production was left to his son. Fortunately, he did not abandon the work of his father's whole life, but continued it and even brought it to a new level. He presented Dove milk chocolate at the exhibition in 1984 and it was after this event that the product was widely distributed in the USA and then in the world.

Currently, the manufacturer of this chocolate is Mars Corporation, which is known worldwide and includes more than thirty brands. They supply their products to the market of Russia, Ukraine and many other countries.
In Russia, the Dove chocolate appeared on the shelves only in 2007, and it is made at the factory of Mars LLC, Russia, which is located in the Moscow Region. However, the production of chocolate bars was opened here in 1995.
