“Raf” coffee is a kind of coffee drink, which stands out for its unusual taste and aroma. You won’t believe it, but the story of Raf coffee is connected with Russia. It all began in Moscow in the 96th year in a small institution called Coffee-Bean, located near the Kuznetskiy Most metro station.

The American style was used in the creation of the coffee house, so there were many foreigners among visitors to this establishment. And then one day a certain Raphael visited a coffee shop, who did not like cappuccino too much. He asked the barista if he could treat him with something special. What the barista simply combined espresso, sweet sand with vanilla flavor and not too greasy cream. Rafael was so pleased with the cocktail that he became a frequent visitor to the coffee shop.

Other guests also appreciated the novelty and began to order coffee "like Raf." Such a name for the new masterpiece sounded not very attractive, so over time it was transformed into “Rough” coffee.

The drink recipe quickly spread throughout Russia, and a little later far beyond its borders. Therefore, today “Raf” can be found in almost every corner of the world. Difference of "Rough" coffee from cappuccino

The composition of “Raf” coffee, as well as the well-known cappuccino and latte cocktails, is espresso, as well as fresh milk (cream) and regular white sugar. But, despite the similar composition, “Raf” does not look like its coffee “colleagues”.

  • So, milk is used for cappuccino, which is whipped separately, and then poured into espresso.

Ingredients:

  • 35 ml espresso;
  • half a teaspoon of sweet sand and as much vanilla;
  • 110 ml cream;
  • gram of cinnamon.

We will need cold cream with 11% fat. Also, a pitcher is used to make this drink. This is a special jug-milkman, where the drink is poured and the cappuccino machine is immersed, after which the milk turns into lush foam.

Modern coffee machines already have built-in cappuccinators. But if you do not have such a device at home, then you can do with a conventional blender.

Cooking method:

  1. So, the first thing you mix with a blender is cream and two types of sugar until lush foam, then pour in espresso and once again thoroughly mix everything.
  2. Pour “Rough” into a warm glass or cup and sprinkle it with fragrant spice on top.

Citrus "Rough" coffee

Raf coffee is a drink created spontaneously, so there is nothing surprising in the fact that it served as the beginning for creating new original recipes. For example, today you can try the citrus "Rough" with an enriched flavoring bouquet.

Ingredients:

  • 55 ml espresso;
  • 110 ml cream;
  • 25 ml of orange juice;
  • teaspoon of sweet sand.

Cooking method:

  1. First of all, brew espresso. If you are making coffee in a Turk, then the finished drink needs to be filtered.
  2. Then slightly warm the cream, combine with other components and shake thoroughly.
  3. For the recipe, you can take freshly squeezed juice, the main thing is that the pulp does not penetrate into the finished drink. You can also use orange sugar instead of nectar, which must be mixed with a regular sweetener. True, in such a drink you will not feel the acidity of citrus, only its aroma.

Honey Flavored Drink

  • 25 ml of honey.

  1. For cooking, you can take more fat cream, but do not forget about calories, especially if you follow the figure.
  2. Beat the espresso, honey and cream and pour into a cappuccino cup.

Cooking with vanilla

If you don’t have a coffee machine at home, this should not prevent you from getting aromatic “Raf” coffee. All you need is to brew strong black coffee, prepare all the ingredients on the list and pick up a blender.

Ingredients:

  • 10 g finely ground coffee;
  • 55 ml of water;
  • 110 ml cream;
  • 10 g of sand;
  • vanilla.

The classic Raf recipe uses vanilla sugar.For a richer flavor, it’s still better to take vanilla rather than scented sand.

Cooking method:

  1. So, first of all, brew espresso. Of course, you can take ordinary instant coffee, but a real coffee lover will immediately feel the difference. Pour a spoonful of ground coffee beans into a turk, pour them with water and brew a strong drink.
  2. Filter the freshly brewed coffee, pour warm cream into it, fill in the sweet sand and vanilla. Shake until foam appears.
  3. Pour the finished drink into a transparent cup and enjoy its creamy taste and aroma of vanilla.

Coconut Rough Coffee

Below is an exotic “Rough” with real island flavor. It also combines the taste of delicate cream, but with a coconut flavor that reminds everyone of the famous chocolate bounty dessert.

For the recipe you will need coconut milk, but if you could not find such a drink in the store, do it yourself!

To do this, take about 100 g of coconut flakes, fill it with water (half a cup will be enough) and then simmer on low heat for no more than five minutes from the moment of boiling. Then we filter the milk and store in the refrigerator for two days.

Ingredients for Coconut Rough Coffee:

  • 120 ml of black coffee;
  • 110 ml of coconut milk;
  • sweet sand to taste.

Cooking method:

  1. Pour strong freshly brewed black coffee into coconut milk, pour in the sweetener and shake with a blender until lush foam appears.
  2. Pour the finished drink into a cup and, if desired, decorate with coconut flakes.

With cream cheese

For creamy "Rafa", such varieties as Mascarpone, Philadelphia, Ricotta or any cottage cheese are suitable.

Ingredients:

  • 40 ml espresso;
  • 110 ml cream;
  • 55 g cream cheese;
  • teaspoon of sugar;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon to taste and if desired.

Cooking method:

  1. Heat the cream, put the cheese in them and beat until it is completely melted.
  2. Then pour the espresso, pour salt and sugar. You can add other spices if desired.
  3. Foam all the ingredients again until foam and serve in a transparent glass or cup.
