The next important holiday of April, Palm Sunday, is a remembrance of the solemn entry of Christ into Jerusalem.Two thousand years ago, Jews joyfully welcomed the Messiah, thinking that He had arrived in Jerusalem to reign. And only Christ himself understood that in the near future death on the cross awaited him. He spoke about this many times to his disciples, but they did not hear the prophecy. Now Christians bring willow branches to the temple for sanctification, which is why the day is called Palm Sunday. These twigs symbolize the palm branches with which people welcomed Jesus Christ.
The first place among all the events of the year is Easter celebration on April 28th.
Church services are dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ. The traditional table decoration on this day is Easter cakes, oval-shaped butter loaves, which are covered with glaze from above. A religious procession takes place around the temples on a festive night, bells sound. Laymen bring cakes, water, and colored eggs for lighting.
