Natural soap in our time is gaining more and more popularity, as many understand the harm of hygiene products created on the basis of synthetic components.

History of Soap Origin

Detergent seems to us such a mundane thing that it is hard to even imagine that once it was not. People maintained their cleanliness with the help of sand, wax, oils, scrapers, juice of soap grass. Soap began to be made many centuries ago, but, of course, we must admit that it was not the fragrant hygiene product that we used to use.

It used to be that the first Gauls invented it, which cooked it from lard and ash of beech. Then the recipe was adopted by the Romans, supplementing it with new ingredients.

But not so long ago, during the excavations, tablets of ancient Sumerians were found on which scientists were surprised to find recipes and descriptions of the soap making process. In any case, then for a long time this useful invention was forgotten.

In the XII century, such goods began to be produced again in Europe for rich people. Only with time was mass production established. Unfortunately, to reduce the cost of production, synthetic components were added to the soap, which caused the development of many skin diseases. Therefore, very often people are interested in the production of useful and high-quality soap from natural raw materials.

Types of Natural Remedies

Real natural handmade soap is no longer just a component for the care and cleansing of the skin of the face, hands and entire body, but also an exclusive work.

Kinds:

  • Soap from scratch.The most difficult option, when everything is created from separate, specially selected components, essential oils, herbal decoctions, various dyes. Often it has a simple rectangle shape with irregularities.
  • On a soap basis. A ready-made composition of natural components with the addition of a small part of synthetic ingredients is used. It can be easily turned into any shape and give the desired shade.

Beginners are better off trying to make soap based on, for example, remnants (in a short time, you can collect enough), and then proceed to create from scratch.

The composition of home soap production

Natural soap must include the following components:

  1. Soap base (prepared from scratch or billet).
  2. Base oils (olive, almond, sea buckthorn, castor, cocoa, wheat germ, avocado, shea are most suitable). They perfectly care for the skin, and also nourish them. When using such a tool, there is no need to apply the cream after a shower or bath.
  3. Essential oils. As part of a natural soap, they give the finished product a pleasant smell. It can be orange, cinnamon, lavender, lemon balm, bergamot and any others. Many of them have excellent antiseptic properties, as well as beneficial effects on the nervous system and mood.
  4. Natural dyes, pigments, mother of pearl, glitter to create an attractive presentation.
  5. A variety of additives: milk, honey, algae, salts, dry herbs and inflorescences, vegetables and fruits (slices and slices). Shredded oatmeal, cereals, apricot kernels, orange or lemon peels, coffee beans are a great idea for making peeling soaps.

As a decor, special paper can be used, with which you can create soap with images and inscriptions.

DIY recipes

Making soap with your own hands is not so difficult, and the abundance of available information simplifies this process even more.

An example of obtaining a simple hair soap based on olive and lavender oil:

  1. Prepare 1 liter of olive oil, 275 ml of distilled water, 130 g of alkali, 20 ml of lavender essential oil.
  2. Pour alkali into the liquid and mix gently until everything is dissolved. Cool to 50 ° C.
  3. Heat olive oil to 80 ° C and then pour into the composition with alkali.
  4. Stir until thickened. Introduce lavender oil and reconnect all components carefully.
  5. Place the resulting composition in the selected form, cover it and leave it in the cold for 3-4 days.
  6. Remove from container and let stand until fully ripened in a cool place.

All work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area so as not to inhale toxic alkali fumes.

The difference between natural soap and purchased

Many do not understand why to produce or purchase natural soap at exorbitant prices, if you can buy an ordinary factory product at a very cheap price. However, those people who are worried about their own health and beauty of the skin, well understand the differences between natural and synthetic products.

The advantages of homemade soap are obvious:

  • the presence of exclusively natural components;
  • lack of chemical dyes and other harmful additives;
  • hypoallergenicity;
  • many positive properties: nourishes, moisturizes, cleanses, protects the skin.

Of the disadvantages, only cost can be called, but a large number of advantages justify the high price. Homemade soap smells faintly, can have a plain appearance, crumble upon contact with water, but just these characteristics indicate its naturalness.

Synthetic products contain many substances that do not affect the skin in the best way and often cause allergic reactions. And also it can have a pronounced smell and color, which indicates an excessive content of dyes and fragrances.

Rules for the selection and use of soap for children

Children's skin is very delicate and sensitive, so for many mothers, the selection of soap and other hygiene products becomes a real problem. On sale you can find different options: standard solid whetstones, liquid soap, cream soap. The last two species are more suitable for the original properties, as they are softer and more delicate. Nevertheless, their composition may contain components that adversely affect children's skin. Before buying, you need to carefully study the label, pay attention to the expiration date.

A good quality soap cannot have a shelf life of 2 years. The smell should also be barely noticeable.

It is difficult to find the best option, therefore it is better to make or order for young consumers the most suitable compositions of natural ingredients. With the master of soap making you can pre-discuss your requirements.

Natural handmade soap cannot be cheap, so it makes sense to learn how to make it yourself.
