Studies of the effects of tolperisone on pregnant women have not been conducted. In these cases, the therapeutic rule applies, according to which doctors recommend not to take the drug "Midokalm" in the first trimester of pregnancy.

The negative effect of the drug on infants is not excluded, since tolperisone passes into breast milk, and especially with prolonged therapy. Lidocaine also passes into breast milk. Can I drink alcohol while taking the drug

It is still unknown what serious changes in the body lead to the simultaneous administration of tolperisone with antidepressants, antipsychotics, beta-blockers, dextromethorphan (an antitussive ingredient in syrups and tablets).

If necessary, you can take at the same time "Midokalm" and sleeping pills or sedatives.

Contraindications, side effects and overdose

Meadocalm can be used for a long course of therapy, taking into account precautions. The main contraindications for treatment are hypersensitivity to tolperisone and any other ingredient of the drug, as well as myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness).

An allergy to the components manifests itself in the form of itching, redness, rashes on the skin and mucous membranes. Very rare cases are Quincke's edema, anaphylaxis. If you experience symptoms of an allergy to the ingredients of the drug, you must stop taking it and in the future do not use the drug or its analogues in composition for treatment.
