The treatment of vascular diseases is very often successfully carried out using Troxevasin as part of complex therapy. This is a drug of angioprotective and venotonic action. Troxevasin capsules are characterized by a systemic effect and effectively strengthen the vessels from the inside.

The composition of the drug

The medicament shell is hard, made on the basis of gelatin, painted in a yellow tone. It has a cylindrical shape. Each capsule contains the active substance in the form of a yellow or yellow-green powder. The presence of seals in its composition is permissible. They break up with a slight press.

Each capsule contains the active ingredient:

  • troxerutin - 300 mg.

Auxiliary ingredients:

  • magnesium stearate (magnesium salt of stearic acid) - 3 mg;
  • lactose monohydrate (milk sugar) - 47 mg.

The shell contains:

  • food quinoline yellow dye (E 104) - 0.9%;
  • food coloring “sunny sunset” yellow (E110) - 0.039%;
  • white food coloring of titanium dioxide (E 171) - 3%;
  • gelatin.

The main component of troxerutin belongs to the pharmacological group of angioprotectors and microcirculation correctors and is a flavonoid.

What troxevasin capsules help

The main effect of troxerutin is its beneficial effect on the condition of small blood vessels, as a result of which the use of troxevasin capsules helps to eliminate the manifestations of venous insufficiency, in particular:

  • heavy legs syndrome;
  • spasms of the calf muscles;
  • swelling and pain of the lower extremities;
  • hemorrhoidal pain, itching, bleeding.
  • spider veins.

Troxevasin capsules for varicose veins are most effective at the initial stage of the disease, especially in combination with rubbing the gel.

Ailments for the treatment of which Troxevasin capsules are used include:

  1. Varicose veins of the lower extremities.
  2. Trophic ulcers.
  3. Embolism and thrombosis.
  4. Phlebitis and thrombophlebitis.
  5. Inflammation of the circulatory tissue.
  6. Post phlebetic syndrome.
  7. Capillarotoxicosis (including measles, flu, scarlet fever).
  8. Abnormal vascular reactions during radiation therapy.
  9. Allergic purpura (inflammation of the blood vessels) or Shenlein Genoch disease.
  10. Hemorrhoids.

And also Troxevasin in the form of capsules is administered in the complex of therapy of lactostasis, retinopathy, provoked by atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus or hypertension. The drug is also used as a prophylactic after surgical interventions.

Instructions for use and dosage

For a noticeable therapeutic effect, a full course of troxevasin capsules should be taken, which is designed for 3-4 weeks. In certain cases, this period may be shortened or extended.

In accordance with the instructions for use, capsules can be taken only during meals, without chewing them and drinking the medicine with plenty of filtered water. This minimizes the irritating effect of troxerutin on the digestive system.

Doses, terms and rules for taking the drug:

  1. The first 14 days, take 1 capsule three times a day.
  2. Assess the result and draw conclusions about the effectiveness of treatment.
  3. In the presence of adverse adverse reactions, the use of the medication should be discontinued.
  4. Upon reaching the desired effect and the absence of negative manifestations, continue therapy, taking the drug 1 capsule 2 times a day for 7-14 days.
  5. A second course can be started no earlier than after a 3-4-week break.
  6. During the year it is recommended to undergo 2-3 courses of treatment.

After taking the drug, its effect lasts for several weeks and the success achieved remains.

Troxevasin capsules for hemorrhoids are used according to the standard scheme.

For the treatment of retinopathy, the daily dose of the substance is 900-1800 mg, respectively - 3-6 capsules.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

When pregnancy occurs, it is strictly forbidden to carry out treatment with the presented medication in the first 3 months.

Starting with the fourth, troxevasin capsule therapy is acceptable. Moreover, the expected positive result of treatment for the mother should exceed the potential harm to the fetus.

The effect of troxerutin on infants is not well understood. Therefore, if there is a need for the mother to take Troxevasin capsules, during lactation and breastfeeding, it is recommended to transfer it to feeding with artificial mixtures. This restriction applies to the time a woman uses this medication.

The duration of therapy is 10-14 days.

Contraindications, side effects and overdose

Absolute contraindications for the use of troxevasin capsules are:

  1. Kidney dysfunction.
  2. Exacerbation of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
  3. The acute phase of chronic gastritis.
  4. Allergic reactions to drug components.
  5. The first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
  6. Age to 3 years.

Under strict control, children from 3 to 15 years of age are treated, since adverse adverse reactions from the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) in this period develop more often.

Patient tolerance is generally quite good.

Possible adverse reactions with the use of troxevasin:

  • heartburn;
  • nausea;
  • vomiting
  • cramps in the stomach;

  • headache;
  • allergic reactions in the form of a rash or urticaria;
  • due to improved blood circulation, flushing of the face.

Symptoms of a drug overdose:

  1. Nausea and vomiting.
  2. Headache.
  3. Hyperactivity.
  4. Redness of the face.

If such signs occur, you should empty the stomach, take a sorbent. In severe cases, you need to seek professional medical help for symptomatic treatment.

The simultaneous administration of troxevanin capsules with alcohol is prohibited. This can increase the occurrence of adverse reactions, lead to an exacerbation of chronic diseases and exacerbate the manifestations of the underlying disease. In order to avoid negative reactions, taking the medicine inside is possible for men after 8 hours and 18 hours before drinking alcohol. For women, the time interval is longer - 14 and 24 hours, respectively.

Troxerutin does not affect psychomotor reactions. Therefore, its use is permitted when driving vehicles and performing work requiring quick reactions.
