The use of drugs with the active substance inosine pranobex can cause acute malaise, which will only worsen the patient's well-being. However, numerous side effects can be eliminated if you choose analogues of Isoprinosine, which are more suitable for the patient due to the individual characteristics of the body.

Composition, active substance Isoprinosine

The main active ingredient of the drug is inosine pranobex, which is synthesized as an immunostimulating agent.

However, its action can also have a non-specific antiviral effect, which allows the use of the drug in the fight against papillomas, measles and viral warts.

The pharmacodynamics of Isoprinosine consists in stimulating lymphocytes to produce antibodies, as well as inducing accelerated division of monocytic cells contained in plasma. And also the drug accelerates the production of granular lymphocytes, which are natural killers of the body - destroy tumor-like and infected cells.

The use of the drug has proven effective in cases of infection with the herpes virus, measles, influenza (types A and B), equine encephalitis and several others. Due to the immunostimulating effect, the appointment during ARVI and diseases in which recovery requires stimulation of the body's natural processes is also common.

Isoprinosine 500 mg tablets also contain auxiliary substances:

  • mannitol - at the same time has a diuretic effect, and also improves the taste due to sweetness;
  • wheat starch - used in the preparation as a substance that absorbs excess moisture;
  • povidone is an enterosorbent used as an external coating to impart a white (or almost white) color;
  • Magnesium stearate is a safe filler that serves to form tablets.

The composition does not use lactose and sucrose, which allows prescribing the drug to a wider range of patients.

Russian analogues of the drug

There are several domestic drugs that can replace isoprinosine. Learn more about them.

Amixin

The main active ingredient is tilorone. It promotes the formation of natural interferon, which helps in the fight against viral diseases, including acute respiratory viral infections. The drug is also effective as part of complex therapy in the treatment of chlamydia, tuberculosis, herpes viruses, as well as allergic and viral encephalomyelitis.

The drug has fewer contraindications, among which only pregnancy, lactation, childhood and hypersensitivity to the components are indicated in the instructions for use.

And Amiksin has fewer possible side effects, including allergic reactions, short-term chills and digestive disorders. Unfortunately, the drug cannot be called an analogue cheaper than Isoprinosine, since its cost is almost three times higher.

Normomed tablets

The drug is available in two forms, however, only tablets are a domestic product. The main active substance of the drug is the same inosine pranobex. Accordingly, both the list of side effects and contraindications coincide with Isoprinosine. A distinctive feature is the lower price, which allows you to call Normomed tablets an analogue cheaper.

Foreign drug substitutes

Some patients prefer to choose analogues among foreign funds, considering them better.

Amizon

The main active substance - amizon, is a derivative of isonicotinic acid. Suppresses the process of penetration of viruses through the cell membrane. It is rapidly metabolized in the body and is almost completely excreted in the urine. The drug is prohibited for prescribing to minor patients.

Groprinosin

It is a cheaper analogue of Isoprinosine with a similar active substance. However, in addition to Polish production, it no longer has any fundamental differences.

Normomed syrup

Quite a convenient form of release. The active substance is inosine pranobex, so the medicine is an analogue of Isoprinosine and with HPV (human papillomavirus).

Instructions for the use of an immunostimulating agent

Tablets are taken with meals. Chewing or grinding them is possible only in cases of difficulty in swallowing whole. For adult patients, the maximum daily dose is 8 tablets, for children, the indicator is calculated from the ratio of 1 tablet per 10 kg of weight. The number of doses is usually 3 to 5 times a day. The course of treatment and its duration is prescribed by the doctor, depending on the individual indications, diagnosis and severity of the disease.

Contraindications, side effects and overdose

In addition to high sensitivity to any of the components of the drug, among the contraindications there are a number of serious diseases. If at least one of them is detected in the patient, the doctor must prescribe an analog of Isoprinosine.

Diagnoses that prevent the use of:

  • gout - a violation of the metabolic processes of the body, as a result of which tissues and joints are affected;
  • urolithiasis - a violation of the urinary system, when dense formations (stones) form in the ducts and kidneys;
  • arrhythmia - a malfunction in the heart, expressed in violation of the frequency of contractions;
  • renal failure, including chronic;
  • children's age less than three years or cases when the weight of the child does not exceed 20 kg.

And also the main active substance inosine pranobex is forbidden to use during pregnancy and lactation. This is due to its ability to quickly penetrate through the placental layer and into the blood, which can adversely affect the development of the child.

In addition to the main contraindications, the instructions for use indicate a number of side effects that can occur on the part of various body systems.

The most common symptoms are:

  • bouts of nausea or vomiting, defecation, pain in the intestine;
  • itchy skin;
  • headaches, lethargy, drowsiness, or, conversely, lack of sleep;
  • joint pain.

During the treatment period, special attention should be paid to passing tests, since taking the drug causes an increase in the level of urea in the plasma. However, with prolonged use, periodic monitoring of the kidneys and liver is normal by prescribing a blood test (usually monthly).

There are no cases of overdose of Isoprinosine. This is due to the high metabolic rate and the lack of cumulation in the body. All traces of the substance and decay products are excreted within no more than two days from the end of administration.

The drug is a proven and high-quality tool in the fight against a number of diseases. However, it is possible to prescribe analogues of Isoprinosine, which will be no less effective.
