Guacamole is considered a Mexican dish, since it is in this country that it is common. By tradition, corn flour chips are added to the dish, although they can be replaced with conventional or even bread products. Guacamole goes well with any meal as a sauce, especially Mexican food. Guacamole (the recipe for a classic dish is presented below) can be prepared in various ways, but avocados, lime or lemon juice will always be present as a standard.

Classic Guacamole Recipe with Avocado

If we turn to the classics, then initially the dish was prepared only from avocado, lime juice and salt. Currently, this recipe is taken as the basis for various sauce options. The simplest, where only three products are used, is already extremely rare.

Below is the classic Guacamole recipe, which is prepared more often than others.

You will need these products:

  • 3-4 pcs. avocado;
  • one lime or lemon;
  • one shallot;
  • one chili pepper;
  • a bunch of greens (cilantro or parsley);
  • some olive oil (2-3 tbsp. l.);
  • salt and pepper are put to taste.

Now cooking:

  1. Prepare and rinse the foods.
  2. An avocado is cut in half, a bone is removed from it. This is done with a spoon or knife.
  3. After that, in a separate cup, the pulp of a tropical fruit is kneaded to a state of porridge.
  4. Add to the mass 1 pod of chopped hot pepper.
  5. Now the turn of shallots, it is peeled, finely chopped and sent to the pulp of avocado. You can use salad onions of white or red varieties. An ordinary head can ruin the taste of the dish, as it is too sharp for this dish.
  6. Grind the herbs and add to the bowl to the rest of the ingredients.
  7. Lime or lemon juice is squeezed directly into an avocado cup.
  8. At the end, olive oil is added.
  9. The sauce mixes well.

How to cook with tomatoes

 

The classic recipe with avocado and tomatoes is prepared as follows:

Ingredients:

  • two avocados;
  • one tomato;
  • if you take lime, then 1 pc., if lemon, then half;
  • 1-2 pcs. chili peppers;
  • a bunch of cilantro;
  • salt.

Step by step cooking:

  1. Vegetables are washed in running water, an avocado is cut in half, a bone is taken out of it, and the flesh is scraped with a spoon.
  2. In order for the avocado not to darken, lemon or lime juice is squeezed into it.
  3. Mash it to a state of porridge.
  4. Chili pepper is chopped finely and added to the dish, if it is not very sharp, you can take 2 pieces.
  5. Peel the tomato and remove the seeds, then finely chop. Spread them in the sauce.
  6. The greens are finely chopped and added to the avocado along with the salt.
  7. The dish is ready, just mix it well.

Sauce with bell pepper and parsley

Bulgarian pepper and parsley add a special flavor to this type of sauce. Having tried once, you will never forget it.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado - 3-4 pcs.;
  • chilli - 1-2 pcs.;
  • red bell pepper - 1 pc.;
  • tomato - 1 pc.;
  • lime - 1-2 pcs.;
  • fresh parsley - 1 bunch;
  • olive oil - 1-2 tbsp. l

Cooking sequence:

  1. Products are washed and dried.
  2. Cut the tomato into small cubes, it can be chopped with a blender. But the first option makes the dish more appealing.
  3. Bell pepper and chili pepper are cut into small cubes.
  4. Now it’s the turn of greens, which is also finely chopped.
  5. Avocado peeled off is ground to a puree state.
  6. Now the pulp of an alligator pear is poured with lime juice.
  7. Prepared vegetables are sent to a cup of avocado.
  8. Olive oil is pouring on top.

Served with pita bread, pre-dried, chips, corn tortillas.

Jamie Oliver's Recipe

World-famous culinary specialist Jamie Oliver offers his guacamole recipe, where avocados are not kneaded manually, but with a blender. But more about everything.

Take the following products:

  • 2 avocados;
  • 5-6 pieces of cherry tomatoes;
  • 1-2 limes;
  • green onions, 2 stalks are enough;
  • 1 small chili pepper;
  • some fresh cilantro;
  • a tablespoon of olive oil;
  • salt and ground pepper to taste.

Guacamole recipe from Jamie Oliver:

  1. Grind cilantro, chives, and chili peppers at medium speed.
  2. The pulp of the avocado is taken out with a spoon. If the tropical fruit is too ripe, you can use the method of Jamie Oliver - squeeze the pulp out of the peel, after removing the bone.
  3. The pulp of avocado and cherry tomatoes are again laid out in a blender and mixed at low speed.
  4. Olive oil and lime juice are added to the resulting mass.
  5. Add salt and black pepper to the dish to taste.

A dish according to the standard recipe by J. Oliver is served with pre-grilled tortillas and fresh vegetables.

Guacamole with Ginger and Lemon Juice

The amount of ginger added must be strictly according to the recipe, otherwise you can spoil the dish.

Ingredients:

  • two avocados;
  • a tomato;
  • half bell pepper;
  • half an onion;
  • lemon juice - 2 tbsp .;
  • a small slice of fresh ginger;
  • ground black pepper;
  • salt;
  • tortillas.

Step by step cooking:

  1. The avocado, peeled and pitted, is transferred to the mortar and kneading.
  2. Bell pepper, tomato and onion are cut into small cubes. Grind the ginger. All prepared products are transferred to the same mortar where the avocado is located.
  3. Add the juice of half a lemon or lime and spices to the workpiece.
  4. The whole mass mixes well.
  5. Tortillas are cut into segments and dried in the oven.
  6. At the end, the dish is transferred to a separate dish, decorated with sprigs of greenery. Corn tortillas are served as a complement to the sauce.

A simple option with sour cream

 

Many recipes add mayonnaise to guacamole from avocado. But it is better to add a more useful ingredient - sour cream.

The dish is prepared according to the standard recipe and seasoned with sour cream.

With bacon

This guacamole is often called masculine.

For the dish you will need:

  • 6 strips of bacon;
  • 3 avocados;
  • ½ part of the onion;
  • 3 chili peppers;
  • a tomato;
  • several branches of cilantro;
  • lime;
  • salt;
  • 200 g chips.

How to cook guacamole with bacon:

  1. Dry the bacon in a preheated oven to 210 degrees. After 20 minutes, put it on a paper towel so that it absorbs the remaining fat.
  2. Mash the flesh of the avocado with a fork.
  3. Onions and cilantro are chopped, and bacon is cut into small cubes.
  4. After mixing all the ingredients, add salt and pepper and lime juice to the dish.
  5. The sauce is laid out in a cup, and chips are scattered around its edges.

Mexican Cooking

Mexicans love the spiciness of the dishes, so they cook guacamole with the addition of pickled red pepper.

For the recipe you will need:

  • 2 avocados;
  • 2 tomatoes;
  • 1 onion;
  • 1 garlic clove;
  • 3 canned red peppers;
  • 1 lime;
  • half a teaspoon of salt;
  • pepper on the tip of a knife.

Cooking sequence:

  1. Pre-peel the avocado from the bone, take out the pulp with a spoon and mash it.
  2. A clove of garlic is squeezed into the mass.
  3. Tomatoes are scalded, and the peel is removed from them, then the vegetables are finely chopped.
  4. Finely chopped canned red pepper is added to the same bowl.
  5. Juice from one lime is squeezed into a cup with avocado and vegetables.
  6. At the end, salt and pepper are added.
  7. The dish is thoroughly mixed.

What is guacamole eaten with

Traditionally, guacamole sauce is served with corn nachos or corn tortilla chips. Currently they can be found in large supermarkets. It doesn’t matter if you don’t find them. There is always a way out. For example, to dry in the oven a regular pita bread or use potato chips.

As a drink for drinking, beer in the bite with lime is perfect.

Guacamole does not go well with rice, meat, french fries or fish.
