Prima, a two-component herbicide (Syngenta, Switzerland), controls the presence of dicotyledonous weeds in the cultivation of corn and cereal crops. It has a wide range of applications and has a quick effect. Herbicide treatment helps to control weeds in vast areas of crops.

Description and spectrum of action of the herbicide

This herbicide is used to destroy annual and biennial weeds, copes with various types of chamomile, sow thistle and tenderile. The temperature of use is not lower than +5 0С. Processing can be carried out at different stages for a long time, starting from the tillering of the culture and until the appearance of the second internode. Weed control is good, even if it has grown too much. The action of Prima is quick, and therefore the results can be seen already on the next day after processing.

The active substances of the prima herbicide are florasulam in an amount of 6.25 g / l and 2,4-D 2-ethylhexyl ether in an amount of 300 g / l. Both substances are different in the mechanism of action on weeds and give the most maximum effect.

The Swiss company Syngenta launched the Prima Forte preparation, which contains 3 active components, and agricultural techniques were added to the two components of the simple Prima aminopyralid, which allows controlling a wider range of weeds.

Storage of the herbicide is possible at a temperature not lower than -10 0С, and the limit of the highest temperature values should not exceed +35 0С.

Important! Access to animals and children in the storage compartments of Prima should be limited. The drug is packaged in five-liter cans in the form of a concentrated suspension.

Main advantages and disadvantages

Primo Herbicide:

  • fights more than 160 species of weeds;
  • easily copes with overgrown plants;
  • its use is possible until the appearance of the 7th leaf in corn and the second internode in cereals;
  • thanks to the double mechanism of action, resistance is not threatened;
  • rain, which began an hour after spraying, will not reduce the results of treatment, and the composition quickly decomposes in the soil;
  • the herbicide is able to destroy the most difficultly eliminated weeds.

Of the shortcomings, it is worth noting that Pima can not be used in the fall, since there is a great danger of frost.

Technology and instructions for use

For a consumption of 1 hectare of crops, 400 liters of working fluid will be needed. It is prepared from 0.6 l of herbicide concentrate and water. The rate of Prima can be reduced to 0.4 liters per hectare. The solution must be distributed over the area with well-calibrated equipment. The greatest efficiency of the product is observed at temperatures above +15 0C.

According to the instructions for use, Prima is able to combat different weeds that require excellent mechanisms of action. Cultivate the land once enough to suppress weed growth. For crops of spring and winter barley, rye, wheat and triticale, treatment is carried out from the tillering phase to the appearance of 2 internodes. The aviation method is used to process winter wheat. Millet can be processed until the culture comes into the tube, and sorghum - until 5 leaves appear. The deadline for processing corn is the appearance of 7 sheets.

Duration of protective action

Complete destruction of weeds after processing occurs in 20 days, and crop protection is provided for the entire growing season. You should abandon the processing of crops immediately after frost or when they may occur. Low temperature will reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

Prima herbicide compatibility

The combination of Prima is allowed with almost all insecticides and fungicides, it interacts well with anti-bicarbon herbicides. During the use of Prima, nitrogen fertilizers and plant growth regulators can be used. Before mixing a large volume, a small quantity must be prepared to check compatibility.

Important! It is not allowed to combine Prima with mixtures containing fenoxaprop and clodinafop.

Pesticide toxicity

Toxic plants are not toxic, regulated dicotyledonous plants, regardless of culture. For bees, the drug is low-hazard, hazard class for humans - 3, non-dangerous for mammals. There are no restrictions on use near water bodies.

Despite the low toxicity of the drug, the conditions for working with it should be observed:

  • working with the drug does not provide for the possibility of drinking, eating or smoking during processing; first wash your hands, face and change clothes;
  • protective equipment required;
  • spraying is carried out in the wind and at a safe distance;
  • You can work on the field only 3 days after processing.
  • When using any chemical preparation, safety precautions should be followed, be sure to wear protective clothing.

When using any chemical preparation, safety precautions should be followed, be sure to wear protective clothing.

Primo herbicide will allow you to quickly get rid of weeds, while increasing the quantity and quality of the crop.
