How do I prepare puffs:

  1. I defrost the dough at room temperature. If I plan to bake dessert in the morning, I leave the cake mix to thaw in the evening, covering it with a towel so that it does not get airy.
  2. I clean the apples, cut into cubes, mix with sugar, vanilla and cinnamon.
  3. Grind hard cheese.
  4. Roll out the dough a little. It is impossible to apply great mechanical efforts, otherwise its structure will be violated, and the baking will not be layered.
  5. I cut each sheet into 4 parts. It turns out 16 rectangular pieces.
  6. On 8 blanks, I make cross-cuts with a knife at a distance of about 1 cm. The same amount of uncut dough should remain at the edges.
  7. I spread grated cheese on the other 8 rectangles, and then apple filling.
  8. I cover the blanks with cut pieces of the base and pinch the edges. To make them look beautiful, I do this with a fork, tightly pressing the upper and lower layers of dough to each other.
  9. I grease the product with an egg and send it to the oven, heated to 200 degrees, for 20 minutes. Sprinkle the finished baking with powdered sugar.

On a note. You can cook puffs with jam or fresh berries. But in this case, you need to add starch to the filling (about 1 tbsp. L.) So that the juice does not leak and the pastries do not burn.
