Augmentin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic drug. It is used in pediatric and therapeutic practices in the treatment of cystitis, joint diseases, as well as respiratory diseases. Analogues of “Augmentin”, common in Russian pharmacies, differ from the main drug in cost and presence of contraindications.

Composition, active substance and release form

There are three forms of antibiotic release and several dosages of the main active ingredient.

  • Augmentin powder for oral use is sold in dark, opaque glass bottles, each containing 35 mg of the product. The volume of the finished suspension is 70 ml. The dispenser and instructions for use are attached to the medicine. The finished suspension has a clear white (or close to white) hue. At rest, a precipitate forms in the solution, so before using it, the bottle is thoroughly shaken with a vertical movement of the hand. 5 ml of the diluted drug contains 200 mg of amoxicillin (the main active substance) and 28.5 mg of clavulanic acid.
  • Augmentin tablets have an oval shape and a dividing line in the middle. The name of the product in English is extruded on their surface. 1 tablet contains 250 mg and 125 mg of active ingredients, respectively. The detailed composition of the tablet coating is indicated in the instructions. The blister contains 10 tablets.In tablets labeled with the inscription “AC”, the content of the active component is different - 500 mg in 1 unit, with the letters “A” and “C” on both sides of the drug - 875 mg. The number in the blister is 7 or 10 pieces.
  • The powder form of the drug for injection contains 1000 mg of the main active ingredient and 200 mg of clavulanic acid. In 1 package - 10 bottles with undiluted semi-synthetic antibiotic.

Russian analogues of the antibiotic for children and adults

There are about forty structural analogues of Augmentin, including antibacterial drugs from the group of protected penicillins with an identical composition. The most budget option - generics of domestic production.

Russian analogues, cheaper than "Augmentin":

  • Amoxin
  • "Ecobol";
  • "Arlet."

Popular foreign drugs analogues:

  • Amoxiclav;
  • Amoxil-K;
  • "Teraclav-Health".

The main producers of analogues are Ukraine, Slovenia, India, but also the pharmaceutical market is represented by antibiotics from the USA, Turkey.

Pills

A close Russian analogue of Augmentin in tablets is Amoxin, which is also a semi-synthetic antibiotic with a pronounced antimicrobial effect. It is aimed at suppressing the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. The active substances in the composition and recommendations for the use of both antibiotic agents are identical.

“Amoxin” is not prescribed for hypersensitivity (including history) to the components of any antibacterial drugs of this group, as well as infectious mononucleosis.

"Ecobol" has a more extensive list of contraindications.

These include:

  • renal failure;
  • colitis;
  • liver dysfunction;
  • pregnancy and lactation.

Arlet tablets are well absorbed in the digestive tract. Eating does not affect the degree of absorption.

The cost of Russian generics ranges from 80 - 140 rubles per package.

Augmentin tablets are prescribed for adults and adolescents over 12 years old.

Powder for suspension

Among the antibiotics produced in Russia, Ecoclav stands out. It is used for the treatment of newborns. Recommendations for treatment and its duration (at least 5 days) are established by the pediatrician.

The finished solution is stored in the refrigerator for 7 days after its preparation.

"Azithromycin" in many respects is similar to "Augmentin", but the analog is more slowly absorbed and worse combined with other bactericidal drugs.

As an analogue of Augmentin, Sumamed may be prescribed, but there are differences between antibiotics.

"Sumamed" accumulates in the mucous membranes, and is not distributed in the tissues. Treatment with him is faster, since the antibiotic is stronger in terms of the effect, but its scope is less wide.

Injection

The Augmentin analogue, Medoclav, is suitable for newborns, but it is not prescribed for lactating women because of the ability of the drug to penetrate into breast milk and provoke the development of oral fungus in infants.

Verklav is a cheap Russian generic with identical characteristics. It is administered intravenously. For patients with body weight less than 40 kg, the agent is administered slowly (30 - 40 minutes), infusion. The duration of administration for all other groups of patients is 3 to 4 minutes.

Ready solution is not stored for more than 15 - 20 minutes.

Augmentin's foreign substitutes in different forms

For the period of such treatment, the baby is transferred to alternative nutrition. The price in pharmacies is 279 - 387 rubles.
