Dry cough exhausts the patient, but does not contribute to recovery. Analogues of Ascoril help to establish the discharge of sputum, which greatly facilitates the patient's condition and accelerates the elimination of pathogenic bacteria from the body.

Composition and release forms of Ascoril

The drug contains several active ingredients. Ascoril tablets include 8 mg of bromhexine hydrochloride, 2 mg of salbutamol and 100 mg of guaifenesin. The package contains 1.2 or 5 blisters of 10 pcs. in each.

Important! Due to the combination of three active substances, the medicine provides an expectorant, mucolytic and bronchodilator effect.

Ascoril cough syrup is also available. In 10 ml of the drug is 4 mg of bromhexine hydrochloride, 2 mg of salbutamol, 100 mg of guaifenesin and 1 mg of menthol. The substance is bottled in 200 ml bottles, each of which is packed in a box of thin cardboard, contains instructions for use and a measuring cup.

Cheap analogues of Russian production

Among budget funds, similar in composition and effect, many are issued in Russia. Their price is lower due to the lack of payment of customs duties and transportation, and in terms of effectiveness, drugs are often not inferior to the original medicine. The list of the most famous generics includes:

  • Ambroxol - an expectorant in the form of a syrup without anti-inflammatory effect, is not prescribed for chronic pathologies of the respiratory system, is allowed from the first days of life;
  • Bronchorus - tablets containing 30 mg of ambroxol are not suitable for the treatment of children under 12 years old;
  • Bromhexine - a drug in the form of tablets with the same active ingredient, is not prescribed for patients under 3 years of age;
  • Ambrosan - contains Ambroxol as an active ingredient; it is made in tablet form.

Most generic drugs made in Russia are in the form of tablets. This creates inconvenience when using drugs for young children. But basically, such analogues are cheaper than the original medicine, which makes them affordable for every patient.

Foreign analogues of syrup and tablets

To remove sputum from the lungs abroad, many medications have been created that are similar in composition to Ascoril. These include:

  • Ambrohexal - a syrup, safe for newborns, it is forbidden to use simultaneously with antibiotics and salicylates;
  • Ambrobene - produced in the form of syrup, inferior to Ascoril in effectiveness, but has fewer undesirable effects and contraindications, and also does not have a bronchodilator effect;
  • Josette - a medicine in the form of a syrup, the instructions for use correspond to the same for Ascoril, is available in volumes of 100 and 200 ml;
  • Lazolvan is a syrup preparation that does not act as a bronchodilator, but is safe for use from birth;
  • Erespal - exists in the form of tablets and syrup, is not suitable for patients with bronchospasm, is prescribed for children from 2 years old;
  • Fluditec - is available in the form of syrup, is not suitable for patients under 2 years of age and for patients with pathology of the digestive tract. The list of undesirable symptoms is less than that of Ascoril.

Imported analogues of the medication presented are often in the form of a syrup. This allows them to be used for young children. But to independently replace one drug with another is not recommended because of a possible discrepancy in dosages.

Instructions for use for children and adults

The pattern of use of the drug depends on the form of release. Tablets are not recommended for children under 6 years of age. But in the absence of the possibility of taking syrup, patients can be prescribed ¼ dragees 3 times a day.

Children 6-12 years old are prescribed 0.5-1 pcs. 3 times a day. From 12 years and older, 1 tablet is shown three times a day. When using syrup, the frequency of use is the same. The amount of the drug depends on age: under 6 years old, 1 tsp is permissible. (5 ml), from 6 to 12 years, 1-2 tsp. (from 5 to 10 ml), and from 12 years and older - 2 tsp. (10 ml) at a time.
